The Rochester Chamber Music Society
The Green Mountain Suzuki Institute is delighted to be an educational component of the RCMS. Join RCMS this summer as we celebrate our 16th annual concert series.
For 16 years, the RCMS has taken pride in showcasing some of the world's greatest music, performed by consummate artists, in concerts accessible to everyone and presented free of charge, with only a modest request for voluntary donations. Beginning with the artistic directors' musician friends and family members, RCMS' ever growing roster of artists encompasses performers from every region of the United States and from Canada, including internationally known soloists and chamber ensembles.
In addition to the concert series, the RCMS is actively engaged in educational activites in the community. This year, its many activities included scholarship support for private music instruction, free rental on musical instruments, and a scholarship for a graduating senior at Rochester High School. During the winter months, Susie Smolen, Education Committee Chair (and GMSI Associate Director), organizes children's programs in the Quintown area.
